AR Motors :Racing chance of a lifetime now available from ARM
Successful applicants will compete behind the wheel of one of ARM´s Porsche 997 GT3 Cup cars. Specifically designed for the race track, the GT3 Cup car delivers 400 hp and stunning performance. The driver would then be competing against some of the Middle East´s top drivers in the GTA class of the UAE GT Championship, which is devised along the lines of similar international GT racing.
ARM is offering drives for the UAE GT Championship meets at the Dubai Autodrome on 29th January, 19th March, 2nd April or 23rd April, as well as the race at Abu Dhabi´s brand new Yas Marina Circuit on 20th February. The packages, which can be tailored to suit each driver´s particular requirements, include three days of driving – a specially organised familiarization day, the race meeting practice session the day before the event, and the qualifying session and race itself.
“Arrive and Drive is perfect for aspiring racing drivers who do not have the time, facilities or technical expertise to run a car themselves, or who want to dip their toe in the water for the first time.” said Alex Renner, managing director of ARM. “This unique package has been specifically designed so that drivers simply need to arrive at the track and jump into the car. It can be seen as a one-off ‘chance of a lifetime´ experience, or as a trial for possible participation next season.”
The format of the GT Championship includes a compulsory 90-second pit stop during each 45 minute race, allowing for a driver change if desired. “Our package is geared to accommodate up to two drivers per car, allowing them to share this extraordinary experience,” added Renner.
Safety on the track is paramount, so all drivers need to hold a national race license, issued by the UAE Automobile and Touring Car Club. Once again, ARM can advise on and assist with this requirement. All on-ground support will be provided by the well-experienced ARM race team, while the car also has space to accommodate sponsorship logos.
ARM is currently providing track support to three teams, and six cars, in this season´s UAE GT Championship, consistently recording podium finishes. In addition to its successful motorsport ventures, the German-owned Dubai-based company also has many years´ experience in servicing, tuning and customising Porsche cars.
To learn more about the ‘Arrive & Drive´ package, prospective racing drivers can log on to www.armotors.ae send an e-mail to info@armotors.ae, or call direct on +971 4 3476466.
Alex Renner took his love of cars and his extensive experience in the automotive industry, both in Germany and the UAE to establish ARM, an organization with the goal of becoming the leading specialist in the Porsche cars in the region.

Gemballa Avalanche 600 Gt2 Evo
As one of the premier addresses for stylish and refined Porsche tuning, GEMBALLA has earned itself a worldwide reputation over the course of time. Thanks to its outstanding expertise, proven in numerous conversions, each customer acquires a vehicle that represents the absolute pinnacle of what is achievable in terms of design and performance. One further such demonstration of its abilities is GEMBALLA’s “Avalanche 600 GT2 EVO”.
The basis of the Avalanche 600 GT EVO is the Porsche 997 turbo or the GT2. GEMBALLA even knows how to boost the already impressive set of performance figures of the production model. 600 bhp (442 kW) put the competition from Maranello and Sant’Agata-Bolognese in a tight spot. The six-cylinder boxer with a torque of 840 Nm – power-boosted by the GEMBALLA car parts power kit – stands out even more. Jet-like acceleration in every gear and at every speed being the outcome.
A sports intercooler ensures that this performance can be reliably accessed even in hot ambient temperatures. As an option, this task can also be performed by a racing sports intercooler. The power boost is acoustically announced by the sports exhaust system fitted by GEMBALLA, whose awesome sound thrills the vehicle occupants and listeners alike.
Upon request, this can also be achieved by means of a four-pipe system instead the two tailpipe versions. GEMBALLA’s power boost allows the modified 997 to race at a top speed of 320 km/h, accomplishing the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The latter can – depending on the driver’s skill – be even further enhanced by fitting the sport shifter for vehicles with a manual gearshift, reduced gear lever travel, which is available in the “Sport” and “Race” versions.
If it looks like a racing car, it should also drive like one. The enhanced engine power alone goes a long way to achieving this. To boost the overall performance, GEMBALLA, however, relies on an additional, extensive enhancement of the suspension and brakes. The GEMBALLA “PROFESSIONAL CONCEPT” is used for the suspension.
This consists of a variable ride height coilover suspension, a strut bar, stabilizer kit and stiffened axle mounts. As an option, GEMBALLA is offering the “RACE CONCEPT”, which additionally includes racing transverse links for the car parts front and rear axle. For vehicles without ceramic brakes, GEMBALLA offers a brake system with four red high-performance brake calipers and brake discs with the diameters 380 mm (front) and 350 mm (rear). For an additional charge, an even larger system is available with a brake disc combination 405/380 and brake calipers in the customer’s requested color.
